We sure do love our pets in Schenectady County -- and there are so many ways to show it this time of year! 

For the pups that love to explore the great outdoors, Schenectady is chock of full of dog-friendly hiking spots.

ANDERSON DOG PARK

Located in the Town of Glenville, Andersen Park is open daily from 8am to dusk. Amenities include two fenced-in areas for separating large and small dogs; a human and canine water fountain; and a 1/2-mile nature trail to explore with your pup!

INDIAN KILL NATURE PRESERVE

The 100-acre preserve is a furry friend favorite! The Preserve is comprised of a number of diverse habitats including, native hardwood forest, conifer plantations, and wetlands.

PLOTTERKILL NATURE PRESERVE

With 632 acres of rugged hardwood and coniferous and three spectacular waterfalls, the Plotterkill Preserve is another wonderful spot for pups of all ages to explore and, of course, to take some great photos! There are some steep slopes and ledges on many of the trails, so exercise caution when hiking with or without your best puppy pals.

GREAT FLATS NATURE TRAIL

Located in the Town of Rotterdam, this trail is a circular route of about 3 miles total, there are several small side paths taking the total trail length to about 4 miles.
