TRASH PARADE
The annual Trash Parade returns Friday, May 15, bringing music, art, costumes and community to Downtown Schenectady. This year’s theme is “Pollinators” and everyone is invited to join the fun by creating costumes, flags, banners and wearable art made from recycled or waste materials. No masterpiece required—there will even be extra creations available for people to carry in the parade!
The evening kicks off at 5pm in Jay Square (across from City Hall) with live music from Gballoi featuring Zorkie Nelson. The parade procession begins at 6:30pm, traveling down Jay Street before looping back to the park for more music from Troy Somba and a showcase of the community’s creations.
REMEMBER: Artwork will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Buying local art not only supports individual artists—it also helps sustain participating venues and the continued growth of ART NIGHT.
