ART NIGHT is a vibrant, city-wide celebration of local and regional creativity, transforming more than a dozen venues into a walkable showcase of visual art, live music, performance, film, and more. From the charm of Jay Street Marketplace to the creative energy inside Armory Studios NY, this is your chance to experience the heart of Schenectady’s arts scene in one unforgettable evening.
Over 100 artists and performers share their work throughout downtown, opening their studios, galleries, and creative spaces to art lovers, families, friends, and curious wanderers alike.
Join local artists, musicians, businesses and community organizations on Friday, OCTOBER 16, for live entertainment, exhibitions, hands-on activities and other creative experiences throughout the city.

OCTOBER 16 PARTICIPATION
1. ARMORY STUDIOS NY-125 Washington Ave.- Open. The great Doug Chilton on piano in the Officer’s Club, downstairs!
4. Hat Pin Peril, 439 State St.- Tiff Mansfield, Schenectady’s only Milliner (hat maker) will be participating. Come see Tiff start to create the hat to be worn by Quasimodo in the November S.L.O.C. performance of the HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE-DAME!!
5. Bittersweet Candy and Chocolate, 173 Jay St.- Local Art will be on display!! Come in for some delicious candy and chocolate, and Funky music!!
6. Sweet Sprig Soaps, 166 Jay Street- All About Eve Exhibit. Plus Paintings and Prints by Aysha Charise On display October 14-December 19, Opening Reception: on ART NIGHT-Also DJ3DG will be DJ'ing outside Sweet Sprig from 5-8pm.
7. Stracher Roth, Gilmore Architects, 143 Jay St. - Featuring sketches created during their nude sketch sessions on display, all by Riverfront Artists!! Also on display: the Tuesday Sketch Club who meet at Union College.
8. Bear and Bird Gallery, 160 Jay St. Jen Wojtowicz Artist-led Craft Project and Art Reception: Tube Monster Craft Project: 4-6pm Reception: 5-8pm, Artist Talk: 6:30pm
9. NY Folklore, 129 Jay St. Stop by the New York Folklore shop and gallery on Friday to see Voices in Stone artist Anping Liu demonstrate the millennia-old art of Chinese seal carving! 5pm - 8pm
10. Storied Coffee, 123 Jay St. Local Art on display, plus the special musical guests Erin Eckler playing 6-7pm, and Rich Saranacki playing as well !
11. The Museum of Prints and Printmaking - 150 Barrett Street Hundreds of prints from print artists around the world are featured at the Print Museum. FREE admission! Many rooms of rare prints on exhibit!! We have a "moody" Jamie Wyeth pumpkin print on display... among many other collectors prints. Cookies will be served!
13. Whitney Book Corner-105 Clinton St.- Open 4pm til 7pm Oakroom Artist Christine Capuano’s Paintings will be featured. This will be Whitney's last Art Night until spring.
14. Mohawk Valley Art Shoppe-701 Union St Local art show featuring local artists, live music. Come see artists at work at Friday Night Sketch Club! Or better yet, bring your pencil and artist pad:)
14A. Last Nerve Tattoo -101 State St (State St and N. Church St.) Many beautiful Artists on display!!! Come get a tattoo on ART NIGHT!!!
15. Moon and River Cafe-115 S. Ferry St. Music by PEARL, playing oldies and folk at 6pm!! Plus art work by Jim Connelly!!
17. First Reformed Church, 8 North Church Street - Come see their multi-artist show "The Art of Collage: Piecing It Together" From 5-8:30pm in the Atrium. Refreshments provided, stop in to meet the artists. Artists include Maria DeAngelo, Virginia Hoeppner, Tina Johnston, Barbara Lennox, Laurel Le Lipski, Alexandra Mancuso, Claire Maziarczyk, Helga Pritchard, Richard Ruotolo, Meredith VanVorst. Jazz from 6:30-8:30pm , performers TBD. All are welcome.
19. Alchemy Wellness, 17 S. Church St- Check out the FREE open mic & awesome local art at Alchemy Wellness Shop 6-9 PM. 10% off all store products for Art Night attendees
20. Peter Maslow Studios-101 State St.-Not Open New Artist in the neighborhood!! Welcome Peter at his artist studio in the former home of the Mohawk Valley Art Shoppe. Large abstract architectural- NYC Bridges & Stockade! Artist Talk at 6:30pm!
22. Schenectady Trading Company - 10 North Center St., Open til 6pm Beautiful newly installed artwork on the walls. Come visit one of the cool boutique stores of Schenectady!!
