Halloween is just around the corner, don't miss all the spooky fun to be had in Schenectady County this Fall season!
ZOMBIE ZIPS AT MOUNTAIN RIDGE ADVENTURE
This tour is not for the faint of heart. Your nightmare begins with a corpse-guided tour along a serial killer infested forest to then be hauled into the trees among complete, utter horror. Once in the trees you will be launched in complete darkness … alone, afraid, and vulnerable … along a screaming steel cable hundreds of feet along Mountain Ridge Adventure’s awesome Zip Line Park. The terror occurs every Friday and Saturday night in the month of October.
Explore the historic Stockade after dark and discover the neighborhood’s most blood-curdling ghost stories. Tickets are $15 and you can choose either the "Colonial Hauntings" or "Ghostly Victorian" tour. The two tours feature different stories, and venture through different part of the neighborhood. Tours depart at 6:30 and 7:30pm, Thursdays and Fridays.
HOLLOWED HARVEST: WICKED LABYRINTH
The Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth brings hundreds of intricately-carved Jack-O-Lanterns to life in an all-ages walkthrough event. Immerse yourself in the glow of the epic pumpkin tunnel and stop by our (re)animated Jack-O'-Lanterns & friendly specters for silly songs and jokes guaranteed to tickle your funny bone! Engage in hands-on pumpkin carving and bring a piece of the Wicked Labyrinth home! With so much to see, the Hollowed Harvest: Wicked Labyrinth has Halloween fun for everyone!
Armory Studios NY and The Mopco Improv Theatre dare you to endure the region’s rain or shine, indoor fright spectacular. To survive, you must navigate the ghastly underground lair of the castle’s mad doctor and his horde of insatiable zombies, creeping spiders, bloodthirsty bats, and dreaded mutant abominations. Will you escape their clutches to tell the shocking tale, or will you share their dreaded fate, eternally trapped between the world of the living and the dead in The Castle of Terror?
A portion of the proceeds of The Castle of Terror goes to support local charities, so, you can do good AND be scared!
The horror-themed museum features wax figures in several rooms with settings and decorations to match the character. Characters include Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Exorcist, and more.
DOWNTOWN SCHENECTADY FALL SPOOKTACULAR
Enjoy an awesome autumn afternoon of fall-themed fun on Saturday, October 21st, noon- 4pm! The area around City Hall and down Jay Street will be filled with art, music, merchandise, food & drink vendors, and much more. A Jack o’ Lantern bounce house and hayrides will add to the enjoyment.
On Sunday, October 22nd from noon-5pm Helderberg Meadworks is teaming up with some of the Capital Regions very best restaurants to bring you our Zombie prom/Spooky Soup Stroll/Toy drive to benefit Unity House of Troy, Inc. Domestic Violence shelter. Dress in your zombie prom best! Extra points for zombie Viking or Zombie Ren faire! (Or just dress as your wonderful self!) Raven Events NY will DJ your favorite metal songs and Halloween tunes!

MiFAMILY DAY: THE SCIENCE OF WANDS & WIZARDRY
Calling all Muggles, miSci is bringing back our wizards and magic family day this October 28th from 11am to 3pm. Find your house by visiting the sorting hat, make a new wand, and explore the magical world with interactive activities galore! Feel free to come in costume and join the fun in your own wizard robes. The Wands & Wizards miFamily Day will have fun activities, sights, and experiences for all ages!
TRICK OR TREAT ON UPPER UNION STREET
Be ready to show off your best costumes for Trick-or-Treating on Upper Union Street - Saturday, October 28th from 10am-1pm. Come in costume to any of our participating businesses to receive a treat!
WOLF HOLLOW BREWING CO. HALLOWEEN SCAVENGER HUNT and COSTUME PARTY
Bring the family out for a spooktacular Halloween scavenger hunt at Wolf Hollow and Murray’s Fools on Saturday, October 28 from 12-3pm! Complete the scavenger hunt across both properties and receive a prize! This event is family friendly and costumes are encouraged!
Then from 6-10pm WHBC is hosting there first-ever costume party! DJ Nat Christiana will be our host for the night as we turn the spookiness up to 11! Two For the Road and NibblexNosh will be holding down dinner and dessert for the evening.
