As of July 1, The Capital Region was cleared for Phase Four, which means some of our amazing Schenectady County attractions have begun to reopen! Our partners have been working hard to ensure everyone's safety and can't wait to welcome you back!

SCHENECTADY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Exterior - Stockade

Safety Precautions Due to COVID-19:

1. All tickets and reservations must be made online, in advance. Admission is still free for all SCHS members, but you do need to call in advance and make an appointment, as their capacity is reduced. They cannot accept walk-in visitors or researchers at this time.

2. All visitors are required to wear a face mask inside SCHS sites, and to maintain social distancing of six feet with other visitors, and SCHS staff and volunteers.

MOUNTAIN RIDGE ADVENTURE

Safety Precautions Due to COVID-19:

1. Mountain Ridge will no longer be providing gloves as part of the tour. If you'd like gloves during your visit, they will be selling them on-site or guests are allowed to bring their own.  

2. Per CDC guidelines masks are required. 

3. All gear is clean and/or sanitized after every use and additional sanitizer stations are located throughout the park.

Safety Precautions Due to COVID-19:

1. The Aquarium will be shut down twice a day for a 30-minute complete antiseptic wipe-down.

2. All visitors are required to wear masks while inside the aquarium.

 

MISCI

Hands On STEM education

 MiSci will be open to the public on July 16 and will be operating on a limited schedule:

 Monday: Closed; Tuesday: Closed; Wednesday: Closed; Thursday: 10:00am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm -4:00pm; Friday: 10:00am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm -4:00pm; Saturday: 10am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm -4:00pm; Sunday: 10:00am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm -4:00pm

Safety Precautions Due to COVID-19:

1. Enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols will occur throughout the day. 

2. Establishment of dedicated hand sanitation stations available throughout the Museum.

3. Modified pedestrian traffic flow procedures and decreased building occupancy to ensure compliance with social distancing guidelines.

4. Removal of non-essential interactive exhibitions and displays.

5. All visitors will be required to wear a mask. miSci staff and volunteers will also be required to wear a mask and protective equipment.

6. They ask that all their visitors take an active role in minimizing the risk of infection by checking your temperature within 24 hours prior to your visit. Those whose temperature is at or exceeding 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius), have tested positive for COVID, or been exposed to those who have and are currently in quarantine, should refrain from coming to miSci.

7. To further protect you and your family, they have temporarily closed their most highly interactive and 'touched' exhibitions and developed two miSci-curated exhibitions, Sound Recording and Play! Each includes notable artifacts from miSci's collections.

8. Due to social distancing guidelines, the Suits-Bueche Planetarium and the Challenger Learning Center are currently offline. SenseAble Science has also been temporarily suspended.
