TOP VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

  • Family owned and operated, The River Road House makes dining a multigenerational affair. Upon ordering your server will likely be either Shannon or her mom Kelly, while the meal was most likely prepared in family by Jess, who's also a purveyor of fine homemade desserts (like the Samoa cheesecake).
  • Menu options run from standards like the Philly Cheesesteak to more indulgent fare like the Seafood Newburgh, which includes mahi-mahi, haddock, scallop, shrimp, and lobster served over citrus rice pilaf in a sherry cream sauce. The cheesesteak, meanwhile, offers a classic menu item with a Schenectady twist. Strip steak is sliced and served on homemade steak rolls dressed in garlic butter, with peppers, onions, and their own American cheese sauce. Save room for the truffle fries on the side.
  • Daily lunch and dinner specials are homemade from scratch, as are most items on the regular menu, down to the sauces, dressings, and various kinds of bread and rolls.
  • The cocktail selection includes specialties like the Peach Pineapple Sangria (made with Pinot Grigio) and Lorenzo's Bloody Mary (concocted by another family member), in keeping with the relaxed and refreshing atmosphere of the rest of the River Road House.
