October in Schenectady County is FULL of fun fall festivals, events, and family friendly activities. From pumpkins to pony rides let's celebrate the rich heritage, changing of the seasons, the arts, culture, live music and delicious food and drink!

 

October 1-November 3: Autumn Glow Festival

Come to the Autumn Glow Festival at Mabee Farm and enter a dazzling world of light with over 1,000 Chinese lanterns, interactive tunnels, a dino ride and more!

 

October 4-6: 

Enjoy live music from Grand Central Station with a Trunk or Treat at the Town of Rotterdam Fall Festival on Friday night. Explore Niskayuna at Autumn on Nott Street on Saturday and complete the weekend at the NY Capital Region Drive Electric Week & Sustainability Fair     

 

October 12-13: Fall Festivals

Hop on a hay ride, marvel at fall foliage from a chairlift, paint pumpkins and play in bounce houses at the Maple Ski Ridge Fall Festival on Saturday! If you prefer Fall events in the city, check out the Downtown Schenectady Fall Spooktacular featuring lots of free family-friendly activities around City Hall. If you still haven't had enough fall fun, visit the Dutch colonial Mabee Farm on Sunday for their Fall Fest with boat rides, a petting zoo, local craft vendors and more! 

 

October 19: 

Schenectady ARC's annual festival, Electric City Trucks, Taps, Corks & Foods, at the ViaPort Rotterdam Mall has everything from food trucks to craft brews, music and a KidZone. Also on the 19th celebrate magic and wizardry at Harry Potter Day at the Schenectady Public Library. If you would like a more hands on activity, you concider pumpkin caving with beautiful Fall views at Wolf Hollow Brewing. 

 

October 26-27: 

The second annual Fall Festival at the Sundance Farm in Daunesburg will consist of all the fun festival staples with the addition of horses! If a Halloween-themed dress up event is more of what you are looking for the Glenville police department is holding its annual Trunk or Treat at Indian Meadow Park.
