Did you know it takes more than 40 gallons of maple sap to produce one gallon of maple syrup?

You can learn that and much more as you explore a working, family-run maple farm right here in Schenectady County, at Riverside Maple Farms.

Take a drive out Riverside Maple Farms for a guided tour to see how syrup gets made -- all the way from tree to table. Explore their production facility and watch their candy confectioners in action creating maple candy and spinning their famous maple cotton candy. You'll also enjoy a guided tasting through their four grades of maple syrup and try your hands at making maple spread. End your tour by treating yourself to some of their maple popcorn to take home.

Thirsty? You can check out Wolf Hollow Brewing Company, just two doors from the farm and try some of their brews featuring local ingredients including hops and maple.

Hungry? There are tons of great local restaurants in the area to explore. Two of our favorites are just about three miles from the farm. Oliver's Cafe in Scotia features some delicious diner treats and new twists on old favorites like their maple bacon burger. The River Road House is also nearby and features some amazing takes on pub fare that you can top off with incredible homemade cheesecake.

With so much to do during your maple adventure, you might just need to spend the night! You can enjoy the beautiful, new Courtyard Marriott at Mohawk Harbor while you relax by their firepit and take in the views of the Mohawk River. They even have a special discount for visitors to the maple farm, learn more here.

No matter the time of year, Riverside Maple Farm is one really delicious reason to #DiscoverSchenectady!
