Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County, Inc. is sponsoring its first 5k race/walk on Mother's Day, May 9th. The first annual Casa Dolce Casa (Home Sweet Home) 5k will be held at Schenectady's Central Park, the start time is 10 AM. Sponsors are needed to defray the cost of the T-shirts and prizes to be drawn at race end. All proceeds will benefit HFHSC's quest to build affordable housing for low income families.

Training for those who want to learn how to save a life with CPR, but don’t have the time to take a full course or need certification. CPR Made Simple is a 2-hour class which introduces individuals to Adult CPR/AED skills and focuses on hands-on practice. This is a non-certification course, in which there is no written test at the end. Course includes emergency action steps, checking an unconscious adult, care for a conscious choking person, care for an unconscious choking adult, CPR training for an adult and use of an AED on an adult.
