    A beloved young resident of our community, Cpl. Luke McDermott, 22, was severely injured during his 2nd tour of duty in Afghanistan on June 9th. While serving our Country, Luke sustained injuries that forced the amputation of his right leg below the knee and fractures of his left leg, ankle, and foot. Currently, he is recovering at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. Together, we are extending a personal invitation to you to join us by participating in Golf For Luke at Rainbow Golf Club in Greenville, NY between July 30th and August 2nd.

Beginning his saxophone studies at age 15, Keith went on to study music at SCCC studying with Bill Meckley, Brett Wery and John Aasmunstad. After two years he transferred to the Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam) and studied with Robert Faub and Brett Zvacek. Keith is an educator, teaching music in the Schenectady Schools. He is teaching in the Jazz Institute for kids at Proctors this summer.

    This event explores many historic and recreational opportunities along the Mohawk Towpath National Scenic Byway. The ride will start at the entrance to the Colonie Town Park on Schermerhorn Road. The location can be reached from U S Route 9 via Old Loudon Road in Colonie. Byway volunteers will provide commentary and interpretation at refreshment stops where ride participants will regroup. A commemorative tee shirt will be available for a $20 donation to the Mohawk Towpath Byway in honor of its 5th anniversary since being designated one of America's Byways.
